International Conference on Global Food Security

The 4th International Conference on Global Food Security will take place online as a live-streamed and interactive event from 7 to 9 December 2020, with pre-conference mini-symposia on 4 December. The registration deadline for live participation (non-presenting delegates) is 3 December, and registration includes on-demand access for 30 days from one day after the conference.

Covid-19: Rural women severely neglected

On International Rural Women’s Day, the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) noted that rural women are being severely neglected during this health crisis (AgriDigitale, 15 October). He noted the major role they play in their families and communities, and that they represent 43% of the agricultural workforce in developing countries. Unequal access to technologies, markets, financial assets and agricultural resources makes them more vulnerable to the impacts of Covid-19.
